Ta is for Tatemae

As a continuation of the alphabet exploration through prints, the topic was taken up in Montypes. This is the word tatemae. This word is perhaps Jettychan’s most favorite word to argue over. To Jettychan Tatemae is a system of socially acceptable lying. It is a way to not have to say No, which is Japanese, is already diluted or avoided in most cases. It is infuriating and can cause a lot of strain between outsiders and Japanese friends.
